Acheté plus ou moins par "inadvertance", par "mégarde" ou autre, je ne puis qu'avouer mon manque de tact vis à vis de cet album. un bel esprit ressort de cette écoute. Même si l'apothéose n'est pas spécialement au rendez-vous, les instrumentations d'époque sont à la hauteur de mes espérances (aucune véritablement au départ donc). Pour ne pas rendre la lecture davantage incompréhenseible j'ai décidé de découper en trois parties la review, une partie par disque.

Raiden. Efficace dans ses rythmes très dynamique malgré une instrumentation limitée du fait de l'année de sortie. On retrouve dans une première partie les thèmes de la version arcade, très entraînantes pour qui apprécie le côté simpliste des années 80 - 90. Je ne reviens pas dessus, c'est du tout bon à mon humble avis et ce ne devrait déranger que les plus renfermés. Vient ensuite la version Playstation, plus "propre" dans la qualité sonore. Les pistes sont moins rapides que la version originale mais elles gardent un certain charme. On est loin de la tendance Rock de ces dernières années, ce qui n'est finalement pas plus mal. Dans le lot, Lighting War est parfaite, que ce soit dans sa version originale ou PS.

Raiden 2. Si seulement je pouvais n'avoir que ce genre de pistes à écouter. La piste Level 1 démarre la balade avec un certain pouvoir, un rythme inspiré et une confiance plus présente que le précédent épisode. Tout au long de cette écoute, cette impression de confiance du compositeur Go Sato est rassurante et permet de ne pas obtenir de pistes trop lassantes. Du moins pour la version Arcade. On peut lui reprocher le côté trop répétitif mais un effort est fait sur les petites "entourloupes" sur les pistes. J'en viens à la version PS, forcèment de meilleure qualité sonore. Le vibrement de la version Arcade en moins on obtient de bonnes reprises mais trop "douce". La force me semble moins importante. A noter que la partie PS reprend exactement les même pistes que son ancêtre. Cette partie est en deça de sa version originale, bien dommage.

Raiden Densetsu + DX. Les arrange des version précédentes sont légions sur cette galette. Certainement pour le plus grand bien des fans cependant pas tout à fait pour le mien. L'effort est certain mais la puissance de la version originale n'est pas suffisamment représentée. L'âme des pistes n'est pas assez élevée. On ne peut par contre que féliciter le respect des compositeurs aux versions précédentes. Je pense ne pas devoir aller plus loin dans mon opinion sur cette version (j'ai d'ailleurs quelques doutes quant à certains de mes propos). A noter quelques bonnes surprises, Go To Blazes !, Opening Take 2 des versions DX et PS. A nouveau, préférence pour les pistes orchestrées plus "classiquement". Inter Rec 03 inoubliable.

Entre originalité et arrange, il y a pour moi une trop grande différence. Les versions originales sont nettement plus "impressionantes". Les dernières versions PS me semblent trop "fades". Du bon, du très bon et du moins bon. A réserver exclusivement aux fans de la série (s'ils existent évidemment), et tout de même à tous les amoureux de "bon son".
